Watercolor meets the immediacy and control of a marker. The Winsor & Newton ProMarker Watercolour – Basic Tones allow you to draw directly with rich color, then activate the marks with water to create soft washes, gradients and painterly transitions.
Each marker features two different nibs. The flexible brush tip responds to pressure and creates both fine and broad strokes, while the precise bullet tip offers greater control for outlines, small elements, hatching and detailed linework.
The pigment ink is water based and can be worked with a damp brush or water brush. Draw directly onto the paper and introduce water while the color is still active, or scribble onto a palette and lift the pigment with a brush for more controlled application.
The Basic Tones palette combines red, yellow, blue, green, earthy ochre and black. These six shades cover essential mixing, shading, botanical, landscape and illustration needs, and can be used individually or blended to create additional colors.
For smoother movement and more even watercolor transitions, use the markers on watercolor paper. Store them horizontally to help keep the ink evenly distributed between both tips.
