When I started to use wet media in my journals, I was disappointed by many watercolor pads. The paper was not strong, it could not absorb water adequately, sometimes the paint would lose its vibrancy when dry and so on so forth. The good watercolor papers were really expensive and I was afraid to experiment and "waste" them. I researched the market, for many years, until I found the perfect paper. It is strong, accepts watercolors and other wet media perfectly and it is really good for all my mixed media experiments both wet and dry. The last few years, it is the only paper I use.

It is made by Fabriano, an Italian paper manufacturer that produces quality paper since 1264. It is a strong cold pressed watercolor paper. It is designed specifically for wet media such as watercolor, guache, acrylics and ink. It has neutral PH and it is also acid free and chlorine free.

You can choose between 48 pages (counting both sides) of 190 gsm (90 lb) watercolor paper and 32 pages (counting both sides) of 300 gsm (140 lb) watercolor paper.

This booklet can be used as an insert for standard Midori type Journals or as a stand alone journal. It has a printed carstock cover. And of course it is hand stitched by me, using Irish waxed linen thread, for extra stability and character. Its size is 21 x 11 cm, perfect as a standard Midori insert
