Dorland’s Wax Medium is a versatile blend of pure wax and damar resin, used as a sealant, varnish, or painting medium. It’s suitable for watercolors, oils, acrylics, gouache, pastels, collage, photos, wood, and mixed media surfaces.
Easy to apply with a soft cloth or fingers, it dries quickly to form a protective, waterproof coating that guards against dust, moisture, and fingerprints. The finish can remain matte or be buffed to a soft satin gloss for extra depth and luminosity.
It can also be mixed with oil paints, pigments, or mica powders (such as Pearl Ex) to create texture, impasto, or subtle metallic effects.
Non-yellowing and acid free, it preserves color vibrancy and surface quality over time.
