Jacquard Alum is a traditional mordant and marbling preparation used to help dyes and pigments bond to fabric or paper. In natural dyeing, it enhances colorfastness and vibrancy; in marbling, it acts as a sizing agent that allows colors to spread evenly and transfer clearly without bleeding.

Ideal for cotton, linen, silk, wool, and paper, Alum ensures strong color adhesion and professional-quality results. Non-toxic and easy to use, it’s an essential supply for textile artists, dyers, and marblers.

👉 Features:

  • Size: 1lb (454g)
  • Pure Potassium Aluminum Sulfate (natural aluminum salt)
  • Mordant for natural dyeing & marbling preparation
  • Improves colorfastness and adhesion
  • Suitable for fabric, fibers, yarns, and paper
  • Safe and non-toxic

🧪 How to Use:
For dyeing: Dissolve 1 tablespoon of Alum per liter of warm water. Soak the fabric for 20–30 minutes and let it dry without rinsing.
For marbling: Mix Alum in water and coat paper or fabric before applying paints. Let dry completely before marbling.

👍 Great for:

  • Natural dyeing & eco-printing
  • Marbling on fabric or paper
  • Textile workshops & art studios
  • Preparing fibers, yarns, or silk for dyeing

🌱 Creative tip:
Allow the alum-treated fabric or paper to dry completely before applying color — this helps the pigments adhere better and prevents color bleeding.

For Fabric Marbling:

Dissolve 2 teaspoons/10 grams of Alum in 1 gal/3.79 L of warm water. Immerse fabric in solution until wet, wring out (do not rinse) and let air dry. Fabric will be ready to marble when dry, and it may be ironed before marbling.

For Paper Marbling:

Dissolve 2 teaspoons/10 grams of Alum in 1 qt/0.95 L of water. Spray or sponge on the solution to lightly coat the paper. Let dry completely before marbling.

CAUTION: Keep dyes, paints and chemicals away from children. Avoid unnecessary contact. Do not ingest
