  • Non-yellowing and UV-stable
  • Self-leveling formula for smooth application
  • Does not reactivate or smear alcohol inks
  • Cleans up easily with water or alcohol
  • Non-toxic and safe for studio use

Use it on:
All non-porous surfaces — plastic, metal, wood, ceramic, foam, EVO, YUPO®, and synthetic papers.

Tested and approved:
Jacquard has tested this varnish with most major alcohol ink brands, achieving excellent results. As always, we recommend a small test area before applying to finished work.

📐 Size: 4oz (118ml)

🎨 Inspiration Tip:
Apply evenly with a soft brush or foam applicator over fully dry artwork. For a deep, glass-like finish, apply two to three thin coats, allowing each to dry completely. Perfect for resin pieces, tiles, and mixed media projects that need a professional, glossy seal.

🎓 How to Apply Acrylic Varnish Properly

🧼 Surface preparation

Before applying varnish, make sure your artwork is completely dry. For acrylic paints, allow at least 24 hours of drying time.
Remove any dust or debris from the surface to ensure smooth application.

🖌 Choosing the right tool

Use:

  • a soft, clean synthetic brush or
  • a sponge applicator

The tool should be clean and free of paint residue to avoid streaks or uneven coverage.

🫙 Application method

  • Do not shake the varnish. Stir gently before use.
  • Apply small amounts at a time.
  • Use long, even strokes in one direction.
  • Avoid reworking areas while the varnish is still wet.

This allows the varnish to level properly as it dries.

Coats & drying time

For best results:

  • apply 2–3 thin coats
  • allow at least 1 hour drying time between coats
  • let the piece cure for 24 hours before handling

🌡 Application conditions

Apply varnish in:

  • low humidity
  • stable room temperature
  • a draft-free environment

Proper conditions help achieve a clean, even finish.

Helpful tip

Always test the varnish on a scrap surface before applying it to your final piece, especially when using a new finish.
