Here are the basics to get you started:

Application

Jacquard Textile Colors can be applied with brushes, stamp pads, squirt bottles, and airbrush. For airbrushing thin with water up to 25%.

Fixing

After drying, Jacquard Textile Colors must be set with heat. There are several ways to do it:

Ironing: This is the best method. Use a dry iron and iron on the reverse side on the appropriate setting for the fabric.
Dryer: Have the dryer on as hot a temperature as the fabric will take for about 35 to 45 minutes.

Cleanup

Promptly clean all tools with warm water.

Tips

Mixing Colors: Right out of the bottle Jacquard Textile Colors provides you with 32 gorgeous colors — plenty for many projects. But if you need more you can easily mix the colors to make any color you desire.

Creating Pastels: You can mix White (JAC123) into any other color to create pastels. Try mixing in a little at first and then adding more if you want to increase the effect.

Increasing Transparency: You can increase the transparency of any color by adding Colorless Extender (JAC100) to it. The more you add the more transparent the color will be.

Increasing Transparency & Flowability: You can increase both transparency and flowability by adding up to 25% water. This will give you more of a watercolor effect.

They also mix beautifully with Dye-Na-Flow, Lumiere, and Neopaque.

Jacquard Textile Colors are water-based acrylic fabric paints designed for painting and decorating fabric with control, durability and a soft finish. When properly heat set, they remain wash-resistant without stiffening or cracking.

✔️ Suitable fabrics

They work well on:

• cotton
• linen
• denim
• canvas
• fabric blends

They can also be used on stretch fabrics and porous or semi-porous surfaces such as wood or leather. Testing before final application is always recommended.

🎨 Application

Textile Colors are used straight from the bottle and can be applied with:

• brushes
• sponges
• stencils
• stamps

Colors are fully intermixable for custom shades and controlled effects.

🎨 Thinning & transparency

• A small amount of water may be added to improve flow.
• For increased transparency and layering without reducing durability, Jacquard Textile Colorless Extender is recommended.

🔥 Heat setting & care

Heat setting is required for permanent results (e.g. ironing without steam). After setting, fabrics can be washed, ideally inside out and on a gentle cycle.

🔥 Heat Setting 

When:
After paint has fully dried (minimum 24 hours).

Iron:
• Fabric-safe temperature, no steam
• Iron from the reverse side or with parchment paper
• 30–40 seconds per area

Heat press:
• 15–20 seconds at fabric-safe temperature

Dryer:
• 30 minutes on high heat

Washing:
After 24 hours, wash inside out on a gentle cycle.

🔴 What is heat setting and why is it necessary?

Heat setting is the process of curing the paint with heat. The heat activates the acrylic binder, making the paint permanent and wash-resistant.

🔴 When should heat setting be done?

After the paint has fully dried. It is recommended to wait at least 24 hours before heat setting.

🔴 How do I heat set with an iron?

• Set the iron to the appropriate temperature for the fabric (usually cotton).
• Turn off steam.
• Iron from the reverse side or place parchment paper between the iron and the painted area.
• Apply heat for approximately 30–40 seconds per area.

🔴 Can I use a heat press?

Yes. A heat press provides more even results. Typically, 15–20 seconds at a fabric-safe temperature is sufficient.

🔴 Can I use a clothes' dryer?

Yes, as an alternative method. Place the fabric in a dryer on high heat for approximately 30 minutes.

🔴 When can I wash the fabric after heat setting?

Ideally after 24 hours. Wash inside out on a gentle cycle using mild detergent.
