Monoprinting is a printing technique with which you can only create one print. This is the opposite of for example a rubber stamp, with which you can reproduce an image over and over again. With a monoprint you can never reproduce the exact same image twice, hence the name monoprint.
Gel printing is a monoprinting technique with a gel printing plate. A gel printing plate, sometimes called a gelli plate, is a sort of soft and sticky plate made out of a polymer material. Originally a print-maker uses a glass plate or acrylic plate to make monoprints. But to make prints you would need an expensive printing press. With a gel printing plate you can make beautiful prints, but without the necessity of press.
A soft rubber ink roller tool of 7.5 cm by Essdee.
This brayer is designed to give a more compliant coverage than hard rubber material. More forgiving on uneven surfaces, proving to be a favourite with certain printing methods but needing extra care in storage to prevent indentation to its soft surface. Especially developed for relief printing.
The Essdee Ink Tray, primarily designed for rolling out block printing inks, is also perfect for using with paint, PVA glue, and other water-based materials. Its flat surface and angled walls make it versatile for various crafts, such as holding beads, buttons, and jewelry. Can be used with rollers up to 200 mm. It is constructed from rigid polypropylene.
