Over time, white clothing can become dull, yellowed or stained from everyday wear.

Rit White Wash is a fabric whitener and brightener designed to restore the brightness of white fabrics without the harshness of chlorine bleach. The formula works together with your regular detergent to whiten whites and brighten colors, helping garments look fresher and cleaner.

It is especially useful for fabrics that cannot be treated with chlorine bleach, such as silk or delicate garments. The formula helps remove yellowing and stains, including common marks from grass, lipstick and grease.

White Wash can be used in any washing machine, including high-efficiency (HE) machines, making it an easy solution for maintaining bright whites and refreshed clothing.

Rit White-Wash is designed to revive dull whites and remove yellowing or stains from white fabrics — even delicate ones that cannot be treated with chlorine bleach, such as lingerie or silk.

It works best on cotton, linen, wool, rayon, silk and similar washable fabrics.

⚠️ Important Notes

For white fabrics only.
White-Wash contains Color Remover ingredients to eliminate yellowing and stains. Do not use on colored fabrics or white fabrics with colored trims or prints.
For best and most reliable results, the stovetop method is recommended because it allows the water to stay at a very high temperature.
The product can also be used in a washing machine, but results may be less consistent.

🔥 Stovetop Method (Recommended)

Supplies Needed

Rit White-Wash
Stainless steel pot
Tongs
Laundry detergent
Water

Instructions

For small or medium loads, use 1 package of Rit White-Wash.
For large or extra-large loads, use 2 packages.
Fill a stainless steel pot with enough water so the fabric can move freely.
Heat the water to just below boiling (about 93°C / 200°F or higher) and maintain the temperature.
Carefully add Rit White-Wash, pouring the powder just above the water level.
Avoid breathing in the powder and use adequate ventilation.
Add about 15 ml of laundry detergent and mix thoroughly.
Place the fabric into the bath.
Stir continuously for 10–20 minutes to ensure even treatment.
Carefully drain the White-Wash solution into the sink.
Wearing rubber gloves, rinse the fabric first in warm water and then gradually cooler water.
Dry the fabric as usual.

💡 Tip:
For fabrics that are heavily yellowed or have absorbed color from other garments, the stovetop method with high heat usually produces the strongest whitening effect.
