There are so many options available now concerning dyeing and dyeing fabric, so renewing or even transforming our cotton clothes and accessories has never been easier!
From acrylic paints, stamping inks, markers and pencils, to paints, the options are endless and extremely creative!
Today I'm going to share two amazing ideas! The first uses markers for fabric and the second acrylics for fabric, both on shoes. Of course, you can paint on anything else cotton: bags, tablecloths, etc.
So, let's go for the first idea!
Take a pair of white cotton shoes, a pencil and markers and let's start by drawing our design on the shoes...from flowers to abstract designs, whatever inspires you! (It might help to draw your sketch on paper first and then transfer it to the fabric).
So once you've designed, decide what colors to use and where, and start with one color at a time to make sure the outcome appears exactly as you want it!
Clearly influenced by Marimeko, if you decide to copy this particular design, you can go ahead and add blue stripes to your shoes! Choose their thickness, and draw them before coloring them.
And that was it! I personally fell in love with these and can't wait to create a similar pair for myself! How about you?

Let's move to our second idea: with acrylic fabric paints - if you have acrylic paints you can convert them to acrylics for fabric with the DecoArt Fabric Painting Medium. Again, draw your design on paper with a pencil and then copy it onto your surface, in this case on a pair of summer fabric sandals...
Choose your colors and a suitable brush and let's get started!
Extra tip: brush your surface with some acetone before you start so that the color 'sets in' better...thanks Sonja Stevens!
